The White Review Short Story Prize
Deadline: 1st Mar 14
The White Review Short Story Prize is an annual short story competition for emerging writers. Made possible by the generous support of the Jerwood Charitable Foundation in 2013, the prize awards £2,500 to the best piece of short fiction by a writer resident in the UK and Ireland who has yet to secure a publishing deal.
Submissions close on 1 March 2014 at midday (GMT).
The judges will be looking for short stories that explore and expand the possibilities of the form.
This year's prize will be judged by writer Kevin Barry, Max Porter (editor of Eleanor Catton, among other luminaries) and literary agent Anna Webber. For more details on how to apply, and to read last year's winner and shortlist, visit The White Review website .
